Tatneft, one of Russia’s leading petro-chemical companies, paid an investment visit to GEBKİM after the preliminary protocol agreement was signed on June 24, 2021. During the visit attended by Tatneft General Manager Nail Maganov, the parties discussed the future of the preliminary protocol agreement, while other investments that Tatneft plans to make in Turkey were also discussed. GEBKİM OIZ Chairman of the Board of Directors V. İbrahim Araci said, “We will begin to see the results of the preliminary protocol agreement that we signed with Tatneft in Ankara.”
A preliminary protocol agreement was signed on 24 June 2021 for the facility investment between GEBKİM, Turkey’s first chemical specialized OIZ, and Tatneft, which is shown as one of the largest petro-chemical producers in Russia.
The agreement signed under the chairmanship of Vice President Fuat Oktay and President of the Russian Federation Tatarstan Republic Rüstem Minnihanov envisaged the establishment of a facility for raw material production in GEBKİM OIZ.
After the agreement, Tatneft’s senior executives visited GEBKİM on September 28 and talked about the steps to be taken after the agreement.
TATNEFT’S SENIOR EXECUTIVES ATTENDED THE VISIT
Tatneft General Manager Nail Maganov, Petrogaz Chemical Group Director Azat Bikmurzin, Petroleum Products Export Manager Luiza Bagautdinova, Assistant General Manager Evgeni Kahichko were among Tatneft executives who visited GEBKİM OSB. In addition, Ramil Mavlyutov, Head of RF Tatarstan Republic Trade Office, and Radik Gimatdinov, Deputy Trade Representative of the Russian Federation, were also present at the meetings as observers. GEBKİM OSB was represented by the Chairman of the Board of Directors V. İbrahim Araç, the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors M. Şafak Türkay, Member of the Board of Directors M. Cem Yelten, Sebahattin Işık and Eralp Erdem.
INVESTMENTS TO OTHER REGIONS OF TURKEY ARE ALSO DISCUSSED
GEBKİM OIZ Chairman of the Board of Directors V. İbrahim Araci, who made statements about the meetings, said, “The parties re-evaluated and reviewed the information shared within the framework of the protocol agreement for the last time. We also exchanged views on other investments Tatneft plans to make in other regions of Turkey. We believe that we will soon begin to see the results of our protocol agreement.”
